Ranch Vacation Packing List

Good preparation can help you to have a more enjoyable vacation.

M&M Ranch is located at high altitude, and weather conditions here can be unpredictable. Summers are typically warm, but very cool at night. Be prepared with both short and long sleeve shirts in summer, and bring very warm clothing for winter ranch vacations. Spring is late here, and fall arrives early - ask us if you need specific help in packing appropriate attire.

Sun can be intense at high altitudes, even when it does not feel like it is. Your hat, sunscreen, and lip balm will help you stay comfortable.

The following items will be necessary for your stay at M&M Ranch:

  • Sunscreen/Lip balm
  • Insect Repellant
  • Toiletries
  • Clothing - varies according to seasonal climatic changes, from winter wear during calving and fall round up to summer attire during our warmer months. Layering is a necessity.
  • Cowboy boots - preferably 'broken-in'
  • Hat - with stampede string
  • Jeans
  • Bandana
  • Leather gloves

Other Items - For participating in regional activities or for making the most of ranch opportunities.

  • Fishing gear
  • Swimsuit
  • Golfing gear (use off-site)
  • Camera
  • Hiking/ walking shoes
  • Backpack/camelback
  • Mountain bike and gear
  • Tennis shoes

*For those bringing your own horse, we recommend that the animal be shod and in shape enough to handle the rigors of ranch work in hilly mountainous terrain.

*Boarding facilities available
